Vertex Solutions are working with a global bank in Central London who are in need of an UX Designer.
Role & Responsibility:
* You will have strong design skills and be able to work closely with developers on optimising the current experience * Relevant experience working as a UI/UX designer in a digital industry and preferably digital banking experience * Understanding of all design aspects related to iOS and/or Android user interfaces * Running and facilitating workshops to flush out requirements and gain business buy in * Good knowledge of relevant design and prototyping software such as, Sketch, Zeplin, Marvel and Axure * Experience working on mobile platforms and responsive web * Demonstrable skills in illustration, iconography, photography and information visualization * Use of Jira to work in agile sprints with development team
The main responsibilities of the post are:
* Building up a deep knowledge of existing designs and operational processes and channels so enhancements can be embedded effectively * Working with the Developers, Business Analyst and Product Manager to devise appropriate research strategies and design * Keeping prototypes up to date for business sign off * Question and challenge traditional design/copy and ensure the design meets both the business and customers' needs * Applying knowledge in human factors, ethnography, and the user-centered design process to product and service design in an iterative development environment * Presenting designs and related business recommendations and customer insights to senior decision makers * Managing day-to-day operations with a range of usability and market research agencies with accountability for schedules, value for money and deliverables * Promoting user centered design principles and best practice within banking * Maintain a view of emerging industry developments / trends on digital services to ensure the future strategy for the product developments are aligned with evolving developments * Personal Specification - Competencies / Skills
* Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for web user centered design practices * Proven experience of gathering user requirements for web based services * Proven experience of business process change to support technology solutions * Proven experience of managing, executing and analysing usability test sessions * Proven experience of working in an agile development environment with User Experience teams, designers and developers to create new digital products and services * Experience of audience modelling and developing design personas
* Professional or academic qualifications in HCI/Usability/Cognitive Psychology/Market Research or related field * Experience across web content, tools and transactional services, especially those with complex user journeys * Experience within a research and digital environment * Experience across financial services / banking.
