Vertex Solutions International have been retained to hire a Vice President of Engineering for Europe's largest Mobility Marketplace.

Already an established household name, the company is the leading mobility provider in Europe and the fastest growing in LATAM and is looking to become the leader in end to end Mobility.

The Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for creating a strategy for growing the team, improving and identifying new opportunities to improve the Core Services across the Marketplace including Finance, Payments, Location Services, Pricing and Search.

You will need to be a strong people manager, capable of guiding and coaching your team to become better managers and helping to become a more collaborative and focussed on the team, not just the individual.

Ideally you will have with experience working with one of the top Consumer, eCommerce , Consumer Marketplace or Mobility brands globally, with a strong education and background to bring ideas and changes to the Engineering teams, looking at how we can shape our product and engineering team in a way that creates a culture and environment of innovation, improvement and collaboration.

This role is strategic, directly working with the CTO and other Tribe Leaders to work towards a new journey for the company that you will be helping to form, looking at improving and optimising the current portfolio and looking at how we can better the competition within all of their markets.

Key Challenges;

> Create and grow an Engineering team, capable of producing world class products through implementing best practice and fostering an environment of collaboration and learning to help all of your teams improve.

> Experienced rapid growth, leading teams of around 60-100 in Engineering, Systems and Data, helping create processes for identification, recruitment, development and retention of great talent.

> Provide innovation, passion, sense of ownership and motivation to the Engineering teams, while sustaining high levels of morale and professionalism. Energise the team and imbue a culture of dynamism, flawless execution and innovation.

Required Experience;

* Demonstrable experience as a Director, VP of Engineering or CTO within a Mobility, eCommerce / Consumer, FinTech or Marketplace environment.
* Understand the typical eCommerce Business Goals, working with the leadership team to articulate these into key OKR's for the teams
* Ability to look at challenges from the consumer perspective to transform our consumer experience
* Proven ability in change management, working with the Board and Engineering Teams to implement changes and best practice.
* Mature, Lead, develop and grow the team of existing Engineering Managers to help them achieve their own personal and business goals
* Background in Agile best practice and ideally servant leader management (OKR)
* Previous experience working with rapid scale growth of both your teams, users and be able to perform at your best in this environment.
